Dear Woolworths.
For years I have almost exclusively been buying WW Ayreshire milk, based on the premise that it is produced using ethical farming practices.
I was extremely disturbed to read this article here:
http://www.travelwrite.co.za/milking-consumers-over-dairy-claims/
I have done further reading:
http://grassconsumeraction.wordpress.com/2014/05/08/grass-asks-woolworths-to-commit-to-more-ethical-dairy-farming-practices/
http://grassconsumeraction.wordpress.com/2013/06/18/got-milk-revelations-of-a-customer/
I am aware that there are 3 sides to every story, so I am reserving judgement until I get a full set of information.
Please could you provide a response from Woolworths, explaining how true the claims made are? More importantly, is there an independent 3rd party report available? MOST importantly, when will truly ethically-produced milk be available on your shelves?
Regards,
Gareth
