I would rather do without than buy products that are misleading. Why also your silence regarding an acceptable time frame regarding the changes required to these farms? The dehorning practices that are apparently adopted in South Africa are truly barbaric. I have also heard the distress of both cows and their calves when they are prematurely separated. My neighbours who had cows (out in field all day long in the hot Gauteng area where I stay) left the female calves with the cows for many months. We still got our milk!
I sincerely hope that Woolworths is planning to rectify these matters as soon as possible. I for one feel as though I have been duped and misplaced my loyalty by trusting Woolworths. Profit is important to a public company but one doesn’t hear of human employees being treated in barbaric fashions to keep wage bills down.
