Hi,

I am truly disappointed on learning from reading this article that Woolworths dairy is not organic.
I specially make trips to WW (half hour drive) for yogurt and milk because my belief was WW dairy was superior to other suppliers. PLEASE commit to selling milk and yogurt from cows that roam freely and are fed natural untreated foods. Why is WW not being upfront about this? Sincerely Tessa Dear Woolworths
Grass' recent article on your non-organically raised cows refers. Having been a loyal customer since your doors opened, your organic produce is almost all that I buy. Believing in your message, I also believed in your produce to support me. Until I started growing my own organic vegetable garden. Having a highly sensitive reactiveness to any foods that have pesticides and chemicals, my own produce made me realise that you dont sell organic food, as you claim. In fact, being highly allergic to wheat, even your gluten free range is extremely toxic and is actually made with wheat. Despite your labelling stating otherwise. When I read in Farmers Weekly that South Africa is the 3rd largest GMO supporting country my blood curdled! Because at least 10 beautiful woman in my circle of friends have been fighting cancer. Some more than once. Every dinner party you go to, someone has either cancer or an auto-immune dis-ease and GMO is directly linked to this. Notwithstanding what GMO does to our bees and the environment. Have you read your food labels lately? Even the simplest of goods has GMO something in it. In fact I thought you were using it because you cant get organic but then I realised, now that you have to list GMO priducts on your labels you have probably been using it all along. Evennon your supposed organic foods do you have GMO listings. Shame on you. On your dishonesty, disregards and racist policies! Nicole To whom it may concern
It has recently come to my attention that the Woolworth's claim of free-range milk (cows that roam freely) is somewhat exaggerated. The only reason I buy milk and all other animal products at Woolworths is due to the belief that this is in fact the case. If this is not so, it is highly unethical, illegal and downright shocking. Please adhere to your dairy commitment, else I will also have to source my milk and other products elsewhere. Many thanks and kind regards Prof G Research professor Dear Woolworths. For years I have almost exclusively been buying WW Ayreshire milk, based on the premise that it is produced using ethical farming practices. I was extremely disturbed to read this article here: http://www.travelwrite.co.za/milking-consumers-over-dairy-claims/ I have done further reading: http://grassconsumeraction.wordpress.com/2014/05/08/grass-asks-woolworths-to-commit-to-more-ethical-dairy-farming-practices/ http://grassconsumeraction.wordpress.com/2013/06/18/got-milk-revelations-of-a-customer/ I am aware that there are 3 sides to every story, so I am reserving judgement until I get a full set of information. Please could you provide a response from Woolworths, explaining how true the claims made are? More importantly, is there an independent 3rd party report available? MOST importantly, when will truly ethically-produced milk be available on your shelves? Regards, Gareth I used to buy it, believing your labelling, but will never buy it again. I have read about your company's dishonest labelling of its milk and I am disgusted.
:-( Verity I am appalled!
I am an animal lover, vegetarian and only purchase your products because I believed your advertising claims. Not ok Woolworths, it's time to come clean. We are the consumers that pay your salaries and deserve to know what we have been buying. Regards Dr K Hi there,
Please commit to selling milk from cows that DO roam freely & graze in pasture, and stop making false claims. Very concerning that you get away with this. Do the right thing, please. Best regards, Peter Hi
I have been a woolworths customer for many years and I am extremely upset at what seems to be blatant lying on your packaging and description on your milk. I would have thought paying a premium for organic milk would ensure ethical farming practices, but obviously not. I am really disappointed, and it makes me wonder about the other 'free range' and 'grass fed' claims on your products. Regards Lucy Good day
I cannot really afford Woolworths products but because I TRUST in your claims of free range eggs, free range meats and free range dairy products, I always made a point of getting those items from your store. Because why would you lie about that and the price seems fitting to the extra lengths you go to keep your animals happy? I’ve read an article (http://www.travelwrite.co.za/milking-consumers-over-dairy-claims/) and would love to know how true this is. We live in an era where food doesn’t feed us anymore. It lacks nutrients and makes us sick with all the added hormones, antibiotics and general well being of these animals that simply is not healthy to them or us. So please answer with honesty if the free range products we buy from you are truly free range or not. A simple yes or no would be in order. Kind regards Ronel |
